I do Bluing and Color Case and offer a fine hand polish and quick turn around. I can even do the NEW VAQUERO receivers and post 64 model 94's. The 1911's look great and modern also. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work!
My H&R Buffalo Classic's receiver/butt plate are case colored, but not near as nice. Same with my Stevens Favorite.

Thats because your H&R & Stevens were not really color case hardened.

It was an artificial color case finish.

I have one of the deer head engraved Mosin Nagant out of Japan, from around the Korean War area. It must have been a Model 44 with a 1945 tang date.
I would love to see how it would look with the receiver case harden.

I just took a look at my receiver, the silver deer head is on top of the receiver along with some engraving.
So it would not work, maybe at least a butt plate.

Is it real color case hardening, or just the chemical process that looks like it?

beautiful! and ya might consider shooting your picts on a neutral background so that ya dont compete with your work, busy backgrounds can detract from your work.
impressive work

I'm not sure its a good idea to case harden a S&W hammer with the hammer nose (firing pin) & hollow rivet still in it.

(If you are?)

They were never case-hardened, and were heat treated to make them tougher and stronger and more impact resistant.

Second that. And ditto on the nice work comments!!! I'm lucky if I can paint something with a rattle can and have it turn out acceptable..

I am curious as well - I was told years ago that the deep coloring of traditional case hardening was achieved thru the use of sperm oil and other such unobtainable things.
