I Agree....

Wait......what was that? Shhh! Did you hear that...? I think they're trying to get in thru the back door!

What happens if you get caught with a handgun on a college campus and you have a license under this retard bill?

I've created an updated version of the graphic.

Please distribute far and wide.

I'm wondering at this point if we wouldn't be better off concentrating out efforts at Hickenlooper. It seems the Reps and Senators have no real interest in representing a large portion of the state, or even informing themselves about the issue(s) they're voting on (reminds me of Obamacare).

The governor, on the other hand, is on record as saying more gun laws would not have prevented Aurora and maybe his opinion on the matter would change if he knew that his re-election was in jeopardy, i.e. - his constituents are against these measures.

Just a thought.

To be honest, I'm least worried about magazine bans given the progress in 3-D printing .

We've had 81,000 visits from Colorado over the last 30 days.

Let them know that when it comes time to remember, THR will do everything it can to get the word out to Colorado residents.

Madmonkey-

we absolutely have to focus on the governor. He's pretty much the only chance of killing any of these.

I'm 99% positive that the UBC bill will become law, but the mag ban is not as certain, the college CCW ban even less so. We have to not only keep the pressure on, but increase it. Out of state members need to write as well; CO is a test bed for passing this garbage in free states. If we fall, ya'll are in trouble, even if not immediately. I mean, you're talking about a state that fought the drinking age increase for some time, at the expense of federal funding for roads and bridges.

More than just gun rights are at stake here; It's our heritage and our reputation for being fiercely independent and doing what is right for the state, regardless of federal pressure.

I sent a letter to your governor. I live in Florida. But stated that I annually travel to Colorado to ski(all true). And that I have to support the civil rights of Colorado residents and that therefore if any of these bills pass, I will be spending my vacation dollars in other states.

I doubt it will help. But I stand behind you guys, all the way from the sunshine state.

Hard to prove when you manufactured something without identifying marks.

I've tried to keep up with the thread and where "Representatives" stand on these issues. In the interest of fairness, before posting Justin's banner to social media sites can I get a quick confirmation the Governor has committed to signing HB 1224. I'm all for ratcheting up pressure against any who govern by unlawful means.

I believe that under the proposed law, making a magazine is a felony, whereas possessing one is just a misdemeanor.
It is a misdemeanor offense. The only felony offense in the proposed law is possessing a +15 round mag during the commission of a crime. Manufacturing is a misdemeanor...

(3) A PERSON WHO MANUFACTURES A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE
IN COLORADO IN VIOLATION OF SUBSECTION (1) OF THIS SECTION COMMITS
A CLASS 2 MISDEMEANOR
Interestingly though, if you organize an 'entity' like say an LLC, sole proprietorship, partnership, maybe even a trust... that entity can legally manufacture magazines destined for someone outside of the state. The individuals within that entity are apparently not subject to the penalty of violating the law either.
(3) THE OFFENSE DESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION (1) OF THIS SECTION
SHALL NOT APPLY TO:

(a) AN ENTITY, OR ANY EMPLOYEE THEREOF ENGAGED IN HIS OR
HER EMPLOYMENT DUTIES, THAT MANUFACTURES LARGE-CAPACITY
MAGAZINES WITHIN COLORADO EXCLUSIVELY FOR TRANSFER TO:

....

(V) AN OUT-OF-STATE TRANSFEREE WHO MAY LEGALLY POSSESS
A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE;
This does not appear to limit the individuals within the entity to possession of ONLY the magazines they are manufacturing. I think those employees are also legally allowed the possession of all banned magazines. For instance, members of Magpul's R&D would not violate the law if they acquired some brand new gen4 Troy Battle Mags two years from now for the purpose of examining the innovations and upgrades of their competitor.

So I wonder if I were to draft a trust to serve as the entity, and therefore the individuals within that trust were not subject to the offenses of this law because the entity existed to make mags -possibly manufacture them from mag kit components- and those mags were then sold on GunBroker or simply transferred to transferees outside of Colorado, not only could I legally possess the +15rd mags that I manufacture, but I could also possess any and all +15rd mags if I'm utilizing those mags for some purpose within the realm of the manufacturing, such as R&D.

Still means no hunting and no defensive use. If this were to become law and not be overturned quickly, local shooting clubs may have a means of bypassing legislation by creation of such an entity and adding all members. Then rather than transferring magazines out of State, they could be stored for "evaluation" by members, perhaps at scheduled weekly events. It would be one loophole for younger generations but far from ideal.

I've been doing some searches, but haven't found anything yet. Does anyone know when these bills will be going before the state senate?

Hunting regs already limit capacity well below 15 rounds. I'll have to check regs on hunting coyotes/p-dogs because there might not be any capacity limits there.

Yeah, the limits are for big game species (5 rounds). Using an AR with 20, 30, whatever on varmints is A-OK
