>1/2 the state legislature has co-sponsored the bill, and the governor is very pro-2A.

Article from the Bangor Daily News

Unfortunately, the Democrats still control the state senate and will likely kill this. So much for 2A not being a party line issue.

Article contains much whining by the Portland liberals and Portland PD... but much to my delight...
not every member of law enforcement opposes the bill. The Maine State Police, which issues more concealed carry permits than any other agency, testified Wednesday in support of Brakey’s bill, drawing raucous applause from supporters listening to the proceedings in an overflow room.

The Maine State Police are "realist" who have a tight budget and understand that just because you pass a background check on Monday for your CCW, doesn't mean that you are automatically flagged for permit revocation should you commit a felony on Friday. There's not piece of paper that will prevent you from breaking the law.

“If you get a permit today, and six months from now you’re convicted of a felony, there’s no automated process where any department is notified,” he said in an interview. “Maine needs to either fix the system, which is not inexpensive, or to rethink the policy. This bill takes that second tact.” - Maine State Police Maj. Chris Grotton

So we'd rather just not fix this rather serious flaw?

Texas is going open carry once it passes the governor's desk. But one has to be licensed . We hope constitutional carry will arrive to us in the near future.

the more the left push's anti gun agenda, the more the right push's in the opposite direction.
I live in Maine and have concealed carry permit.
