Damn the facts. Why doesn't our side just start throwing out absurd stats.

For every attempted murder, 100 victims kill their attacker with a gun.

Has anyone been able to fact check this or even heard of this organization? They don't have a website. Sounds very skewed to me.

Here's the big problem with that "statistic": Killing the attacker is not the only outcome of a successful self-defense. In fact, it's pretty rare. In approx. statistical occurance: no shots are fired, the shots miss, or the attacker is wounded and stops or runs.

It's the same bullcrap the antis pull at every opportunity.

And you are correct, of course. In the majority of defensive gun uses no shots are fired. Then nobody hit. Then hit but not killed (80% of people shot by a handgun survive). And then, finally, shot and killed.

Pretty much every university has many of them. Not saying they're effective or not, but they are everywhere.
 
I saw it on Hannity as well, I was very disgusted on how the victim was treated by the others!
 
Evie Hudak is my state Senator, though not by my choice. Whoever decides to run against her is going to get a lot of support from me during the next election. She's a worthless fool who doesn't believe in our rights or our constitution. She needs to be voted out of office ASAP.
 
Did some checking. The "Colorado Coalition Against Gun Violence" hasn't been seen or heard of since 1999-2000, when they were trying to get anti-gun folks riled up in Colorado. They still have a listed phone number in Denver, but nobody answers and there's no answering machine. Their director from 2000 is Ted Pascoe, currently executive director of a senior citizens organization. He pulled a publicity stunt in 2009, living as a "homeless" person in Denver because the city cut some senior funding. He made it 2 whole days before he gave up. I'm thinking CCAGV is probably defunct, and whatever propaganda they put out 11-12 years ago has mostly disappeared. I wonder where Hudak dug it up?

Interesting, good work Cologuy... that to me gives the stat even less credibility. So now it's not just from an biased organization, from an uncited study, likely unscientific, and completely irrelevant to self defense... but likely old too.

It pains me that Collins admitted "The stats are against me" :banghead:

They're totally unconcerned about facts or logic. They want neither. All they want is your guns. And they want all your guns.

And the way this country is declining, someday they'll be successful.

That's probably accurate but it doesn't state that the women were murdered with their own gun.
Criminals look for easy prey and unfortunately that's usually a woman, an old person or the infirm. The fact that women rank high on the victim list doesn't mean that self defense is worthless. It should mean that more women need guns, training and CCW permits.

Exactly. The stat in question is simply comparing the number of known defensive shootings by women with the number of women murdered with firearms. So of course there will be a big imbalance. A more interesting question is how many of the murdered women were armed at all?

THE ATTACKER RAPED HER AT GUNPOINT (because she is a law abiding Citizen and left her CCW at home (college campus)
So, we have a gun ALREADY INVOLVED
so... why would he take hers and kill her with it??? he already has a gun
what would have happened was an leveling of the field....

so, these so called, quoted 'facts' are (besides being lies), COMPLETELY NOT APPLICABLE TO THIS SITUATION
 
Times like these I'd like to take out my handgun and pistolwhip them in the clavicle. Only in our dreams. What this lady said was disgusting, and uncalled for. She is NOT representative of all Democrats.
 
I hope the femi-nazis and all decent people in Colorado never forget her callous remarks.
 
Delusional is the word that keeps popping into my brain when I try to make sense of the explanations and ideas that are given to me by the "true believer" liberals that I talk to, and TRY to understand.
