Colt’s TALO Wiley Clapp Commander Review

I like the appearance. Fit and finish are nice for a carry gun. The forward serrations on the slide seem to chew on my leather holster leaving leather crumbs in the front grooves. This is my first 1911 with that feature and I don’t mind the look.

It is 100% functional with the two hollow point factory loads and hard ball that I tried with Colt magazines.(will not eject loaded 230grn Hydrashock) The trigger breaks at 4.5lbs and is crisp. Grips are not pretty but combine with the checkering for a secure feeling while shooting.

At 15 yards, the bullets strike about an inch high and two inches right. I’ll correct the windage and try the Wilson 8 round ETM magazines next time. I was not sure I would like the brass bead front sight but it draws your attention similar to a white dot.

The only negative is the price but I it has everything I wanted. Thanks for listening.

PS. I forgot to mention the offset primer strikes.
