Just picked up a Stainless Colt Rail Gun with the "100 Years of Service" Rollmark (Close as I can afford to get to an anniversary 1911 :p

My question is that the right side of the ambi-safety differes from the safety on some other 100 year Rail Guns. The Colt website says the RG comes with a "Tactical Ambi" Was there a change sometime this year? Whats the deal?

other style ambi

Interesting. The second pic appears to have to safety on slightly different position on the frame or something.

Looks to me like the lever arm is shorter if you look at the end in relation to the diamond pattern on the grip. It's almost even with the diamond on the longer one and a bit shorter on the other.

My "100 Years of Service" LW XSE has the one you listed as "other style"

If you look in the 2011 catalog the pictures on the Rail Gun page look to me like they depict the one you show as "type on your pistol"

Looks like the one is more of an attempt to look like a "opposite" part. I've mostly seen the "others". The one you have has a certain symetry to it.

Both are good.
