Colt 1911XSE Sights

I have an older 1911XSE with the older blade sights on it and want to upgrade the sights to some Novaks or something more like the current production XSE's have on them. Anybody done this and have an idea on what it costs to upgrade? Could always buy new sights with the new 1911 attached to them I guess Thanks in advance!

You'll have to call to be certain, couldn't tell you what the original XS Colts came with, but Dawson Precision sells sights for the newer XSEs which use a proprietary cut.

I looked into upgrading my series 80 Government and by the time all was said and done i ended up with another 1911 dangling from my new sights.

IIRC Novak charges $115 to machine/install sights and $85 to refinish. That is very fair IMO and less than a lot of my local smiths.
