Colt 6920 lower -- what non-Colt uppers will fit?

I have a Colt 6920 that I love to shoot -- but have started thinking about buying a Rock River A4 varmint upper just for kicks.

I have heard lots of advice on what'll fit the Colt. What have been your experiences with putting other manufacturers' uppers on Colt lowers?

The 6920 has a small hole lower. That means anything but a large hole Colt upper will fit on it. You can buy adapter pins to fit the large hole upper to the small hole lower and vice versa.
