Colt Diamondback .22 magnum 4 inch

I found a guy in Tucson that says he has a Colt DB that says ..2 magnum on the barrel but really s a .22 LR and a some were shipped out by mistake.
I have never heard of such a thing but it makes me want it even more....even I have to get money from 401k.
Has anybody ever heard of this or is he full of it

Try to get some photos! Even if it is just a rollmark mistake.

I'd love to see it. I too have never heard of one before this. Never say never?

Sort of like the Python and .357 that were tentatively advertised as coming out in .256 Winchester Magnum and listed in the '62 Guns Digest. Smith definitely made at least one to test and Colt undoubtedly did too. Problems with case set back and forcing cone life I reckon.

I wish they had just 'improved' the case and brought it out anyway! Nothing wrong with dreaming once in a while.
