colt diamondback 4 inch .38 MINT!

You know, whenever I try to save money to buy a house, some awesome deal seems to come up.

Friend is selling a mint condition colt diamondback 4 inch .38 special. 200 rounds throught it. sitting in his safe for about 30 years. price, 700$.

I defer to my fellow highroaders. I have the cash. yay or nay? I know what I want to do, I just need moral support on this one.

That's about what they seem to be going for these days. Why don't you take a look at it...perhaps he would come down $50-$75 ?? You can always sleep on it. If you decide to pass it isn't the last one in the world. You'll figure it out.

Now to make things difficult for you.....they're a GREAT revolver !....and folks who own them but don't shoot them, sadly, will never know.

You will never regret it. They are not making any more and the price goes up pretty steadily.

Next time you find a nice one like that it will costs you a grand, then 15 smackers and pretty soon more then your first car.

Trust me, I watched it happen to Heavy Duties. My first one costs less then 200$ my last one cost just shy of a grand and this is all in less then 3 years.

Colt use too make good, quality revolvers. If funds are not an issue, I
most likely would buy it? Lately, I've been caught up in the small D-
frame Colt craze. Traded away a beautiful 2" factory nickel Lawman
MK-III, to add yet another Colt D-frame 1966 Detective Special.

I don't think I can kick the Old Colt habit (laughing loudly )~!

You say you have the cash? BUY IT before you spend the money on something foolish, (booze, women, etc.) that would be nothing but a memory while you are at the range enjoying your Colt.

LOL! CU thank you for the advice, but while I may be young I hardly drink and I have no women at the current time. Maybe that's why I have been so happy the last few years. (Nothing against the ladies, I still luv ya.)

hagar the cheapest I can find one of these guns on the auction site is 800, and after shipping registration and whatever else I am looking at about 1000. 700 doesn't seem like to bad of a price.

..I'm not certain that price reflects current reality at the moment.......a buyer might very well feel that's what he OUGHT to pay based on a published book value....but a seller with an excellent condition Diamondback today is going to ask close to the $700 mark ( sometimes more ).......and get it ! Anyone seen that 2" Colt Lawman currently going for OVER $700 on Gunbroker ?....as much as I like the Lawman, it's NOT a Python or Diamondback

As a Diamondback owner, I'm glad I picked up all mine back in the 1980's-90's when the going price for one in like new condition wasn't much over $300. I remember buying two on the same day in the same pawn shop in 1988 for $225 apiece. I passed on a 4" $375 nickel Python because I thought it was overpriced.:banghead: Yeah...we've all got stories like that I suppose.

To get back on topic though....I do think realmswalker ought to ask the seller if he could see his way to come down $50-$75 on the price. It never hurts to ask. What'dy got to lose ?

700 is the best he will do, plus he is going to let me pay it 100 a month and let me have the pistol while I am paying it off, I gotta do it.

Don't hesitate on a deal like that. If you don't you will kick yourself later in life. Those guns are going for 800 to a 1000 down here and they are not in mint condition like that one sounds. Go for it quick before someone else gets it.

Owner financing is worth something. Hope he still has the box. You did not go wrong or if you did, it is only a $50 mistake. Price continues to climb. I bought a NIB 6" blue Diamondback 38 last year (with original box) for $725. At the time, it was not a huge bargain, but it did have the box and goodies. Saw one sell for something like $1200 recently. So, now I feel good and you will too.
