Well, at least you've got good expensive tastes.
Good luck with both.

There's someone selling the nickel 6 inch 22 in my neck of the woods for about $1500. About 98%-99%

Yuch, rebarreled, scratched & not correct grips.
Who wants that THING ?

At least the dealer appears to be selling the gun honestly in terms of the information on the gun. You buy it, you know what you are getting.

There seems to be quite a few hunting for the Nickel 22 Diamondbacks (DB) these days. Those 2.5" 22 DB's are really a novelty.

D**n! I consider myself lucky in finding my own 4" 22 LR Diamondback. My friend told me about it and I gave him the cash to put down for me (just to get it off the shelf). I came in and signed for it later in the week. He told me that right after he plopped down my bucks, another buyer came in. Talk about being lucky twice on the same gun!

Personally have never seen a 2.5" 22lr D-back. The blued guns can be purchased for big bucks, the nickel guns bring outrageous prices IMO. Funny that amongst the S&W revos, nickel doesn't bring near as much of a premium as on a Colt?

I like the D-back, but they're asking outrageous (because I can't afford it;) ) prices for them, often more than Pythons. I guess the nickel four-inch I saw at a gun show for $1200 was a bargain.

I have a NIB 1976 2.5" .38 blued and unfired and it is worth $900-$1000.
I have a 6" Blued .22Mag and it has been fired by me a few hundred rounds:what: , is about $95% and I have turned down $1200 cash . They are both in my investment safe and not available for fotos at this time.
Nickle ones must be rare as hen's teeth! I have yet to have one cross my path!

I could have bought a four-inch nickel .38 for $500 a few years ago (c. 1998). But there was a Python sitting next to it that I liked better and I only had the money for one. This gun needed some repairs anyway.

If it has to be nickel plated its going to be difficult. There are a few 2.5" and 6" bbl'd ones on gunbroker.com but are blued. I have a 6" in 38 spec. that I finally got my buddy to trade me after about 12 years of nagging/begging him. I recently picked up another one with a 4" bbl that was a steal. I almost missed it because looking through the glass case at the gun shop the price tag looked like $1,350. I almost fell over when I did check it out and realized that the price was $350. I bought it immediately of course. The revolver is in excellent shape and came with the factory box. Sometimes you just get lucky. Good luck in your quest!
