Hi, Went out today and ran a couple of speed loaders of WWB .38's threw My Colt DS II. It's being replaced as My CCW of choice while riding the Sportster ( front jeans pocket ) by My newly aquired Ruger LCP, but it will remain in rotation as My CCW attire/activity permitting. This gun shoots to point of aim every time. I'm pretty sure the guts are a little different from the original Colt Detective Specials, but it sure seems smooth to Me. Anyone else have one of these. I aquired it in a trade for a 10-22 with massive upgrades I was selling for $450 a few years back. Anyone else have a Colt DS II ????....WVleo

If it's the stainless version there's not many out there, thus no responses. 5-6 (maybe longer) years ago there was a new factory bobbed hammer Magnum Carry that sat in a local shop for $550 for a long time. Shoulda bought that one.

Strange as it might seem, the modifications to the internal lockwork actually improved the action, because most if not all of the mansping stacking was eliminated.

Some early guns had weak trigger return springs, ( or the cylinder bolt spring, I forget which) and Colt will replace the one you have if problems develop. Otherwise it is one of the best snubbies ever made - by anyone.
