Colt Gold Cup manufacture date?

Hello,

I would like to know the manufacture date of a Series 80 Colt MK IV
Gold Cup National Match.

S/N is FN1xxxx.

I've checked proofhouse.com but there is no “FN” s/n

The Colt Gold Cup "FN" serial number sequence started in 1983 and began with number FN01000.
1984 started at FN03653.
The last number publicly available was 1985, which started at FN11680.

If yous is higher, call Colt during business hours and they'll give you a production date over the phone.
They won't give out any other info unless you buy an Archive letter.

Does the SN1xxxx serial signify a year of mfg. that you recognize on a Series 80 Gold Cup National Match in a polished finish?

The public Colt serial numbers only go up to 1985.
The last Gold Cup numbers at that time were in the FN series.

Call Colt during normal business hours ahd they'll give you the production date over the phone.
They won't give any other info for free.
