Now if we could ditch the trigger, the adjustable sights, the shiny finish and the lowered port it would...... Lol Just kidding. Looks like you got yourself a sweet deal. I have two pistols that are decades old and have never been fired after proofing. Kind of the same feeling you get when buying a new car.

Very nice. I had a Gold Cup back in the 90's which I foolishly let me ex talk me into selling early in our marriage to fund a vacation. I've been kicking myself since.

Nice and enjoy it, may it bring you many happy days on the range. I have a thing about the Series 70 Colt models and have several of them and enjoy shooting all of them including several Gold Cup versions. Enjoy!

In all the difficulty in finding guns I was lucky recently to find that a LGS here had a NIB Series 70 blued Gold Cup. Always had one of those on the list and I jumped on it. Have not had a chance to shoot it much but very happy to have found one, congrats to you on your find.

Every now and then we find one like that. What I would like is a Series 70 in 9mm. I have one in 38 Super but would like a 9mm to sort of round things out. :) Nice find! I just lucked into a few extra origins Colt magazines for the 38 Super. I've had the gun for years.

Same shop had a NIB 6" Model 57 and a Model 66. It's become an expensive place to visit.

My local shop knows me and the type guns I gravitate towards. When they get something in they know I would be interested in they call me. :) This is especially true with hand guns. :)
