The only problem there is the fact that Colt did not put anything rubber on the stocks/grips in 1968 or 1969 on any Python.
Maybe you are one of the unlucky ones that needs to now buy a $150 set of all wood target Stocks ? Hope that's not the case.
Pay attention on ebay. After passing on at least six sets that went for over $140 +.picked up these is almost as new condition for $65 + shipping.Don't get in a hurry, there are bargains out there.Just takes time.
Buying Colt stocks sucks out loud. They have become horrendously expensive in recent years and since most were hand-fitted to the original gun replacements often don't fit worth squat. This is one of the areas where S&W has it all over Colt. S&W stocks swap much more easily. God bless mass production.
You guys ever noticed that it seems like any Smith or Colt revo on Gunbroker or GA has cheap rubber grips? I'll assume they're all selling the nice wood grips separately, probably on Fleabay
