I just pick up a Colt UNITED STATES PROPERY U.S. ARMY M1911A1, serial number 8729XX. This colt has all matching and all the correct markings and falls within the duplicated numbers that Ithaca used when they manufactured there 1911A1's. Mine has the correct GHD inspector mark and "P" on the slide and same serial number behind the firing pin block. Correct barrel with "P" and G mark and UN on under slide and G as well. Reciever has G also. This 1911A1 doesn't seem to have had much use and is in about 98% to 99%. and I was just wondering how much it would be worth for I traded for this 1911A1 from a friend of mine who want my springfield M1A post ban.
I know the picture isn't that great but still trying to figure this camera out.

Hmmm... you might want to try over on 1911forum.com in the USGI forum for a really in depth reply. Military 1911A1's are a big subject, and it's the middle of the night at the moment.

I can't really put on a value without seeing the gun, but Colts of that vintage in 98% have been going for over $1400.

Try Jouster.com in the 1911/1911A1 board.
I have found that those people really know their Collectable 1911A1 pistols.
