I finally have heavy enough bullets for the 1 in 7 twist and was going to sight in my high priced no magnification red dot sight @ 100 yds. I find that @ 71, my eyesight is the 2nd thing to go. I was thinking of a magnified ACOG, then had someone disparage that idea. I have it fitted with a high quality green laser for close up but didn't really want to hang a hunting scope on a 16" AR. I already have a solid rear stock 20" AR set up that way. I've also owned the holograph sights but by the time you buy a magnifier you could have had a nice Leupold. I wouldn't often be shooting farther that 100 yds. - that's a long enough walk.
I won't say price is no object but I don't buy junk - that way you only experience the pain at the cash register and not in the range. Any ideas along with experience will be greatly appreciated.

Any particular reason they steered you away from the ACOG?

If you're looking for something in that magnification range, that Leopold Mark AR in 1.5-4x would be worth looking at, though the standard BDC is geared toward 55gr ammo. You could figure out equivalents for your load or order a custom reticle.

That Trijicon isn't a bad scope, but I think it's almost too much scope for no more than 100 yards.
