Colt Magazines

I own a Colt Combat (Stainless) Commander Model 45. I have 2 Colt factory 8-round stainless magazines. They work great.

Where can I buy Colt magazines? And I mean the original magazines manufactured by Colt, not any other brands.

I have had so many horrible experiences over the years with so many bad magazine manufacturers that I now never buy anything but the ones made for the gun, by the original manufacturer. So, although somebody else's might be great, I just won't buy em, so please don't recommend them.

The problem is, I can't seem to find Colt magazines, just a lot of unknowns and other 1911 manufacturers. Anyone have any ideas?

It's my understanding that Colt is not manufacturing any 1911 magazines; they contract out production to other suppliers.

The most recent Colt-marked magazines I saw were stamped with an M on the bottom, indicating production by Metalform.

I guess I'll be trying those. I'm still very lery after past experiences with ruger mags, which are unbelievably horrible. I've bought, and then just thrown away, half a dozen of those.
