Just picked up this 1935 vintage Officer's Model Target 22 two weeks ago. Took it to the range for the first time today. Looks like it is going to be giving my K-22s a run for their money.

That's a real nice one! I've been wanting to pick up a Police Positive Target .22 for small game hunting.

I have a virtually identical OMT -- sweet gun. I kept the issue stocks, but took them off and put a set of Herrett's on, which improves shootability, in my opinion.

I bought some Colts in 2013. This 22 was made in 1930, not as nice as Johnson's 1936, but I am proud how i got gobs of dirt out of it with out leaving witness marks on the screws.
I am reading that I dickered the guy down from $650 to $540 [20%], but I can't even remember the seller from 2013.

I just sold my Police Positive Target .22 in September. I can't get out and shoot , so have started to sell off. Nice guns and I have a Police Positive (not target) in .32 Colt. Too bad these are so hard to get ammo for. I have a little less than a box left for mine.

At any rate You fellows have some very nice Target .22's . Hope you enjoy them.

Do you ever order direct? I think theres plenty of 32 ammo available online. SG ammo probably has some, or look on the ammoseek site.

He may be talking about 32 Short Colt.

I have a little Colt DA 32 Police Positive. It is chambered for the old 32 Short Colt, a round with a heeled bullet.

32 Colt New Police, 32 S&W, and 32 S&W Long will not chamber in it, the brass is too wide.

Ah, yes, you are correct. I was thinking 32 S&W long for some reason (like poor reading comprehension?), its fairly common still, and priced decently.

Rather than buy heeled bullets, I seat bullets backwards for my old 1893 32 Colt Long.

I found a guy on gunbroker who could convert brass to 32 Colt Long.
That is some heavy equipment to squeeze the web of the case.

That's a nice looking revolver. I'm afraid Colts can be as addictive and pre-lock S&W.
I recently scored my first Colt, Officers Model Match in 38 spcl, it's a darn nice shooter.

I made a non invasive scope mount for the heavy Colt 22.
I can shoot it way better than scoped semi auto 22s. I dunno why.

It seems I also have a 1940 that is closer in condition to the one Johnson posted at the top.

Small game ? Why I kept the Police positive Target G model .22WRF I have . .22 WRF is the best small game up to about 30 pounds and less than 50 yards away cartridge I know of. They flat point 45 grain slugs around 1100 FPS in this 6" barrel pistol and about 1400 FPS is a Winchester 1895 pump gun with 24" barrel. The G model .22WRF is on bottom.
