This was a really fun project. It started with a 1944 Colt slide on another frame with odd ball parts. The customer bought the other gun with the intention of just using the slide for another retro sleeper. And that is what he got. From 2 feet away this just looks like a pristine 1911 (not A) Colt 1911. Then a closer look would reveal
Gunsmith Fit Match Barrel and Bushing
EMC Tool Steel Wide Spur Hammer
STI Titanium Hammer Strut
Yost Retro Rear Sight
Ed Brown Serrated and Ramped Front Sight
Aluminum Short Trigger in place of steel trigger
Caspian 1911 Reciever
S&W Smooth MSH
Ed Brown 1911A1 Grip Safety
Just for pics smooth cocobolo grips, will be fitted with proper retro replacement grips
Hand lapped slide to frame
3.5 lb. crisp trigger.
Midnight Blue Finish
Polished slide flats
"Brushed" reciever flats for proper look

And some other things I am sure I forget. PLEASE forgive the crummy pics. It just does not show how nice looking this gun turned out.

This gun shot 8 rounds through a quarter sized hole free hand at about 25 yards. I did not want to let it go.
