I only knew one smith who could take the stacking out of a Colt DA. He did it by making his own hammer and trigger, using what was basically the S&W system. He only did one or two for the simple reason that no one was going to want a "trigger job" that cost five or six times what the gun did. I have not heard of him for years and likely won't as he was in his 60's in 1957.
