Hi K.A.T.

Nice gun.

A couple of questions if I may.

1. I see that it has been partially, but not completely, set up for a shoulder stock - do you also have the stock?

2. Was this part of the Cavalry Commemorative edition? I cannot read all of what is on the barrel.

Thanks

Tony

Lol, the old State flag Gunbroker uses for vendors from Georgia is a hoot!

Always thought it looked better than the flag we have now, and the one prior to that.

The first compromise replacement flag looked like a beach towel for those not familiar with it. :barf:

Nice Revolver

It has the fourth screw for the stock to fit on, that is the way they come from the factory. I don't have the stock. It is just a Signature Series, it is not part of a set. That is just the Sam Colt address on the barrel. This is a real nice revolver, action is very smooth and the finish is beautiful. I've had them all, 2nd and 3rd gen. and this one is the smoothiest action and the best finish of all the ones I've had.

I needed to make a phone call today and couldn't get a good signal. I drove a little ways and parked on top of a hill. While I was there some guy came by and stopped. He tried to sell me a '58 and a 2nd Model. He had his paperwork and all proving they were his. He wasn't asking much and they looked to be in excellent condition. I wouldn't buy them though. I don't have many guns but I'vd still got more than my tired old ass can ever wear out. I'vd got what I want. Besides, both of these had engraving on them. Nice engraving but I simply hate engraving on a gun. I can put up okay with the scenes that come on the cylinders of the open tops because I figure it's supposed to be there. Anyway, I'm sure he didn't have any trouble getting rid of them....

Momma said "NO!"

No, as in "no dear, we are saving for that vacation with my mother this summer"", or "no dear, because you have so many guns already"?

There's a third type of "No!" I recall the former Mrs. Ginormous using once too often, but I doubt that applies here. :)

K.A.T. – Thanks. I actually stuffed up my question and remembered it after I posted it. The Cav Comm set was 2nd Gen – not Sig vintage. Your 1860 has the recoil shields cut but does not have the stock notched for the stock hook that the Cav Comms definitely did. The engraving was also on the side of the barrel, not the top. So I stuffed that one up big time – surprised I did not get jumped on!

But while we are at it….. I am after a 2nd Gen Cavalry Commemorative cased set. This is a large offering with 2 x 1860 Armys, shoulder stock and all the bits and pieces – so the whole thing is quite big. I have just missed out on one but have USD1000 sitting here waiting for anyone who has one and wants to sell. I have an agent in the USA now so you will not be bothered by international shipping etc.

If you want to see what the set looks like there are a couple on Gun Broker (at vast price – which is why they have been there for months LOL).

GOTC – Good Day Sir. How is the party shaping up that you are throwing for the Walker Club? You get the buffalo, skin and dress it (BBG can have the hide for some more quality leather goods) and we will bring the BBQ sauce and bread rolls!

Regarding the LRE project – it is progressing and getting more complicated.

The project will now see the light of day in the States (as it damn well should anyway). Sltm1 is handling the US end and modifying the stocks to take the larger Walker and Dragoons 3s. I hope to have the first of the stocks with him ex DGW in about a week.

At my end I am putting up the money, my first of two Walkers should arrive very soon and I bought a Dragoon 3 already cut for stock last week, I have further gone off my brain and bought a cased commemorative Walker as well and have my eyes on several others!

I am still held up by Oz Customs re stocks but have now got a charming young lady working on my behalf in there – so I guess that is going to cost me an evening to dinner as well!

The obvious thing to do now is leave it all in the USA for the time being although the custom barrels will be made in Oz to start with. There will be at least three prototypes. I see two Walkers and one Draggy 3. Sltm1 will be tuning them and range testing them (so Y’All be nice to him!). He will keep one and I will get the other two so I can have a play as well!

If they turn out as well as expected then I may have a chat with Uberti for some limited edition serial numbers, a bit of unique engraving and a few may be available as very limited edition cased sets – but that is ‘end game’ stuff and we have to get it working first.

Aye
