Colt Special Combat Government, Series 70?

There is a Colt Special Combat Government for sale on GunsAmerica and the add mentions that it is a series 70 pistol. The model is O1970CM.

Are the Colt Special Combat Government models series 70 or are they series 80? I read an article in GunTests that states the Special Combat Government is a series 80 design. Did colt change them to be series 70 guns? That would make me very happy as I prefer the series 70 design.

Mine's a S80, and was made in '95 (at least thats what's on the nite sites) Mine is the Carry version-all blued with fixed nite sites. (Actually it's my wife's). Tracy
