Mark Redl should be pretty familiar with the competition scene, but I don't know where a singlestack 38 super is going to fit into that.

Must admit I know very little about competition, I live too far out, close to 100 miles each way. I'm fortunate enough to have my own range.

This is a very fast, hard hitting caliber that's pleasant on the hands and fun to shoot. The Super is one of those calibers that packs a wallup and has very fast split times. :)

Did someone say Colt 1911 in .38 Super? Yep, that is an interesting release by Colt.

My older Colt Series 80 Enhanced in .38 Super.

It would be good for IDPA or USPSA Single Stack division. At $1000 MSRP I'd guess street price around $800, which isn't bad. It would compete with Springfield's RO series at that price point.

I wonder if it has a ramped barrel. Kind of a killer for it in Super or 9mm if it doesn't. Not a big deal in .45.

That's a really nice looking Colt. :)

What about the Burris do you like and dislike?

I would get one if I were in the market for another .38 Super. Still having fun playing with my Commander convertible.

IDPA and USPSA singlestack won't allow it to be scored major so there isn't really any reason to have 38 super over 9mm in those applications...
