Can anyone tell me if Colt places any markings on a gun when it is refinished at the factory? I have a nickel plated Colt trooper 38 spl 1962 model that is in 98 percent condition throughout. Several opinions I have received are that is has not been refinished. All of the lettering is crisp and clear, and the screw heads show no signs of re-nickel. I guess I find it hard to believe that a gun this old can retain its finish for so long. If it has been refinished, someone(or the colt factory) did a fantastic job. Any opinions?
