Hi all,
Shot the walker yesterday and was having some problems, for one thing the barrel wedge was backing out, when I tapped it in farther it wouldn't back out, but the cylinder would bind. Could it be I just need a new wedge? Or is the gap for the wedge getting too large? I haven't gone near 60 grains of powder, I was using 35 grains of T7 yesterday.
Thanks!

Classic sign of the short arbor. All Uberti's have short arbors. The wedge is supposed to hold two assemblies together, under tension, and that's all (that's enough!!). Some folks think the wedge is a "gap setter", it's not. No matter how far you "tap" the wedge in (wedges should be tapped in under tension), the barrel should never bind the cylinder.
It's the arbor length that defines the barrel/cylinder clearance. The arbor should bottom out in the arbor hole which is what keeps the setup from binding the cylinder. This is how you can have the same gun each time you assemble it rather than " something close".

So, your Walker is just like all the other Walkers out there that haven't had the arbor length addressed. There's a current post on here about a Walker with target. Take a peek.
