I am looking at a 1957 manufactured Colt Woodsman Match Target 6" barrel with the original box and a few papers. Gun is in about 95% condition and is wearing what appears to be factory brown glossy plastic grips. They are asking $799, does it sound like a decent price? Thanks.

Colt Woodsman plastic grip panels brittle? Could be, but the plastic grip panels on my 1954 Colt Woodsman Target are just fine and not brittle.

Thanks for the info. My only problem now is convincing the wife that I have a need for another gun in the safe.

Tell her it is an investment. AT that price it is. I wouldn't take that for my second model Sport Woodsman.

Brown grips or "orange and green camo type" grips? Backstrap bulge included?

Ive got one from the early 50s with the orange and green plastic grips and backstrap bulge. Also 95% condition but no box. It shoots better than any 22 pistol I have. Grandpa paid 900 nearly 20 years ago for it.
