Hello everyone, I need some help with finding some acc. for my Remington 870 Express. I need a flashlight mount and a mount for a two point sling. Upon researching for these items I quickly realized there are too many options to consider. Please help me weed through the bad, bad being too expensive and or being easily broken, please. The light mount would have to be able to accommodate a round bodied, .75 inch aluminum light. Another thing, does anyone use the speedfeed stock? Opinions?
Thanks! Happy 4Th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some things to take a look at:

Leatherwood Tactical for light mounts for 870 (can't find a link!)

Picatinny rails that replace the 870's forend are made by Fab Defense and Surefire. This option may be the most flexible in terms of what lights you can attach. Check out the options at Brownell.

Streamlight makes mounts to go with its lights

TACM III is company I know nothing about; their product is "Universal" but I don't know what that means; the 870 is mentioned by name in this ad.

Hard to beat the Advanced Technology Barrel Clamp #SMC1100 on price.

I think the ATI Barrel Magazine Clamp with Sling Swivel Stud for Shotguns may be the same thing?

I know little about these products; I am sharing my links with you because I am picking over the options myself. Being an incurable cheapskate, an not relying on my 870 as my primary home defense weapon, I may try to find a one-inch-diameter LED (MicroFire? Energizer?) and mate it to one of the latter mounts, just to see how it works.

Edit: I just noted your 0.75" specification. Some of the mounts I mentioned won't work with that.

CDM Gear made a wide variety of clamps for sorts of doodads for your basic pump gun.

IF this is for HD, lose the sling - just something else to snag at the wrong moment

I tried several different lights and mounts to avoid paying for a Surefire fore end, and in the end, it would have been cheaper to have just bought the fore end, which I ended up doing anyway.

Its the most expensive option, because its the best option, IMO.

Edited to add: I am wrong handed with longarms, and therefore my only experience with a speedfeed stock is shouldering it in the store, telling myself "Dude, that's gonna hurt," and putting it back on the rack...

Personally I think a light on a gun just gives the bad guys a great aiming point and slings just get caught on things.

The Speedfeed stock I do like, I use a pistol grip version. Besides having the 4 extra rounds on board the pistol grip helps keep the gun pulled in tight to the shoulder when moving and shooting. It also provides the same basic feel as my MBR, a FAL.

Here is a solution if you are willing to buy a new light. Leapers LED with a Laserlyte tri-rail, utilizing the magazine rather than the barrel or forend. SOME good reviews. Under $70 total.

Edit: if you like the idea of a forend attachment per se, there is also ATI's rail-on-the-forend solution.

There might be a different degree of shock from the weapon's recoil. I'd imagine it would be worst on the barrel and least bad on the forend. Someone surely knows better than me, though.

Acc for shotguns

Midwest industries makes great products mid-road pricing. The two pt sling vickers sling best I've seen and used.
