Article - Criminal Law
§4–202.

The General Assembly finds that:

(1) the number of violent crimes committed in the State has increased alarmingly in recent years;

(2) a high percentage of violent crimes committed in the State involves the use of handguns;

(3) the result is a substantial increase in the number of deaths and injuries largely traceable to the carrying of handguns in public places by criminals;

(4) current law has not been effective in curbing the more frequent use of handguns in committing crime; and

(5) additional regulations on the wearing, carrying, and transporting of handguns are necessary to preserve the peace and tranquility of the State and to protect the rights and liberties of the public.

Sometimes I don't appreciate my state legislators very much.

I was just reading through all our gun laws today and here's something else I found rather scary.

Article - Public Safety

People who keep doing what they've always done expecting ot get different results are nuts. You can't reason with them because they have to reasonable argument.

I have heard that one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Gee the current laws aren't stopping the criminals so we better make more laws. Definitely insane.

I like how they state several facts and come up with a totally wrong conclusion.

Crime is rampant.

Gun laws haven't stopped the crime.

Lets make more gun laws.

Their argument is sound provided they are talking about regulating criminals actions. However we all know thats not possible to do with laws because criminals aren't affected much if at all by laws.

I suppose this could apply equally to state legislators also..

Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

You cannot expect Maryland Gun laws to make any sense. They the politicians have to know it. It has to be a vicious circle. Practically only criminals carry in the State of Maryland. I haven't seen a provision in the State constitution for the Right to keep and bear arms in this state.
I for one went to the Maryland State Police Barracks to conduct a private gun transfer. My retired Military Identification card wasn't good enough. I have never been refused anything with that Identification card until then. :mad: They wanted my DD Form 314. I will never hand over to the state of Maryland any copy of a DD form 314 long or short form. They will not get the information on that form. I never served the state for 20 years. I served the U.S.
Md is a good state but ran by hooplacrats.
