I am fairly new to the gun thing (5 years) and have been bitten by that nasty 1911 bug. My problem is after 3 "high end" compact 1911's I havent found one yet to be reliable. Including a SA super tuned V10. I know 1911's can be finicky but I am a problem solver and I am having trouble with this one. Do I really need to spend $1000 to get a RCP II or what? Or should I drink the "Glock Kool Aid" (shamelessly ripped off from member here)

I have a Kimber Ultra CDP and could not be happier, it just works. I also use a Milt Sparks VM-II holster which fits perfectly.

I know there is a lot of Kimber bashing, but my 3 Kimbers (one with an External Extractor) just go bang. I also needed to send one back to the factory and had no problems and about a week turn-around.

I went to an IDPA match with a Kimber TLE right out of the box, and it just went bang... :D

Look at the Kimbers!

Don't know what to tell you. I've got a Kimber Ultra Carry that hasn't had a hiccup in over 2,000 rounds of reloads, factory HPs, FMJ. It does like Wilson mags much better than the factory mag it came with. I once ran 500 rounds of reloads (lead 200 gr. SWC and Unique powder) through it without cleaning, without a single problem. Perhaps I got lucky but I'm hanging on to it.

I have a S/A Ultra Compact. I had several FTE's & jambs in the first 600 or so rounds. It just seamed to take a long time to break in I did polish the feed ramp & that helped. I probably have 800 rounds through it now & haven't had any problems lately.

My Kimber CDP Ultra ( 3" ) works flawlessly. It will feed anything. The Kimber 3" Tactical that I gave to my nephew was finicky with SWC's but fed Trunicated style bullets, Golden Sabers, XTP's, Gold Dots and Winchester HP's flawlessly. ( He just got out of the Marines. PROUD of the young Man! ):)
Buy a Kimber. In the unlikely event it doesn't work, they will make it work!

I have a Para Hawg 9 that has not had a single problem and at self defence distances, this is the most accurate pistol I have.

Davidsons sells them through Bear Mountain here in Arizona for $728.99.

I got mine during a sale for $631 Plus $12.95 shippig.

:D I have a DW Classic Bobtail that, as of last night, I'm trying to figure out a couple of problems :banghead: Extractor seems alright, I've been using quality mags but still issues :scrutiny:
I guess I'll figure it out :D
