Compact 1911

I just recently purchased a S.A. GI micro compact 1911 and was wondering if the full sized 1911 mags would work in it reliably.

The only way to know for sure is try them in YOUR gun.

They'll work, but only use them for target shooting at the range. They won't latch in correctly like the proper mags will. Not something for carry purposes.

the CM shooting star 7 rd mags work wonderfully in my micro...YMMV.


Not to derail the OP, but why are some officer mags 6 rd and others 7rd? they are the same size!?

Should work just fine. I have Springer Micro 3" 1911 and my 8 and 10 rd mags work just fine. I carry with the 6round mag in the gun and a 8rd full size mag for a reload.

Sure, you can hand 10 rounders out the bottom if you want to - they latch at the top.

They may work, but need a base to keep from going too far in. Them, slip on mag spacers would help, if they make em.
