which would be your compact 9mm of choice? Just curious what your personal preference would be based on what you look for in a carry weapon in 9mm.

UPDATE:

Please keep in mind that I am refering to compact and not subcompact pistols, I define compact as they are described by the company producing i.e the glock 26, kahr pm9, kel tec pf9 etc are described as subcompact.

Also, I am not looking to buy a new gun, just satisfying a debate me and a friend were having.

I voted "something else". I think the Glock 26 would be more of a compact than the 19. I also think it would be the better choice.

My current "something else", FWIW, is an S&W 3953. Any compact 3rd gen Smith would do though... I'm not picky.

;)

that falls under the sub compact category, but an acceptable answer non the less.

I also like the USP compact 9

I realized I forgot a poll option right after I submited this thread:cuss:.

To me, things like the Seecamp or LCP, etc, are a "sub compact". The 26 really aint all that small.

CZ 2075 RAMI is a great subcompact carry 9 mm. Available with manual safety or decocker (BD).

Very true ak103k, I would agree with you however for this poll I decided to go off of the manufacturer in how they classify them in order to avoid argument.

In the end though I wanted answers based on personal preference and expierience and you did just that, so if you think the shoe fits I accept it ;).

You forgot Walther's PPS, Taurus's 709 (?), Kel Tec's pf-9 and p-11
Much slimmer and more comfortable for actual all-day carry.

But the XD9sc is a winner, too.

I assume you've searched the endless, interminable, repetitive and redundant "what pistol should I buy?" threads, so more info on what you're actually wanting the gun to do for you might get you more than the good old "I carry XxX and so should you!" or the amusing "I read yYy about XxX so it is great/junk" and "I like to keep XxX in a drawer with some cheapo ball ammo and never shoot it, but you should get the same gun, too!"

Or you could just go to the shop and handle a pile o guns, take home the one that meets your needs/budget best.

I have two of the guns on the list, a Sig P228 and the CZ-75D PCR. The Sig sits in the safe while I carry and shoot the CZ PCR regularly. Its one of my favorites, over many others.

I'd throw the HK P7 PSP on the list also.

I would look at pf9 first. From the list provided I would go with the Ruger as it's probably least expensive option to choose.
