My buddy is interested in a compensated Glock, however he has heard that they have discontinued them and wondered why? I have read that they are not discontinued, but only in limited production from time to time. Can anyone give me any more details about these pistols, and are there any issues with them other than poor sales?

<----has 19C, 17C, 23C, 22C and wishes he had kept his 21C.

"C" models are no longer a standard production item. If a distributor, police department, or retailer orders enough of them Glock Inc has said they will make a run of them.

Glock does runs of special models when demand warrants. For example the G17L is only run about every three years and the G24 was last run about four years ago.

Those who have never shot one will tell you they will ruin your night vision when firing in the dark.....they don't do worse than any other handgun.

Thanks everyone for your input, I'll pass that on to my buddy, I think he's stealing this thing @ $250. I already told him to buy it anyway, can't get hurt!

I wish I had kept my Gen 2 23C. My buddy talked me out of it for more than I bought it for in a moment of weakness. He still has it and will probably be buried with it. I really liked it. I want a 19C

Wow, a Glock for $250?
He hasn't bought it yet?

I own a 22C, 23C and a 24C. And I have an aftermarket compensated barrel for the 34. If I ever come across a 21C at a good price, I'll jump on it.

The 40s compensated shoot very well. They really help in keeping the pistol from rising much and makes for quick follow up shots.

Noticeable difference in muzzle flip with the "C" models, especially 23 vs 23c; the 19 doesn't recoil much anyway, 19c even less.

love my 20c. I was originally looking to get the smaller 10mm however this one came up at my favorite retailer.

I didnt notice one iota of difference in shootability with a 19 vs. 19c... Only cleaning is where its apparent...

My bud has one I love it, Yea they only make them for a short period and I missed the last one, But I keep looking

I spotted one at a gun shop in NH over the weekend. Gen 3 frame, $530 I believe the tag said, though I wasn't paying close attention as the model isn't my cup of tea. Happy to pass the lead along if anyone here is in the area or wants to contact them to try to arrange shipping.

I only shoot against a timer.. Dont confuse poorly thought out ports to a real compensator.

:scrutiny: Using carry ammo, those ports reduce my average 2nd shot time by about .07 second, no confusion.

Related topic: The Lone Wolf extended ported barrel reduces muzzle flip and increases velocity a bit.

CDW4ME:

Is that the FDE or OD G19? I hear they're just barely discernibly different, except when side by side. I have an FDE G19 on order, but have never seen it in person.

It seems like they pop up every once in a while new at shows and such- like the RTF models. I got a gen 3 19c a year ago at a fun show, got about 300 rounds thru it. No issues, except for me- I was so used to shooting standard 19s that when I shot multi-shot strings I was over- gripping to compensate for the recoil that SHOULD have been there- at least in my mind.
