Complete AR-15 lower $120 4 position M4 stock question??

O.K. as I think about the Plumcrazy lower I do like the weight.

I am not a polymer kind of guy all my pistols are metal in one form or another. Yes I owned a Glock once upon a time. Great gun just not for me.

Having said that the only concern I have with the lowers are the polymer take down pins and the little spring that keeps the pin from coming all the way out of the front catch pin. Being polymer the nipple that goes in the pin slot does not slide smooth like a metal pin with metal to metal contact. However there are many folks who put an AR together and never remove the lower!! Yes I do know a few and when you think about it they do not have to be removed unless replacing parts or swapping uppers. Just a thought.

For those who want a lite lower for their uppers at this stage I feel comfortable in saying for approx $120 you could do much worse. I had purchased 3 uppers of which 2 were in .22 so for the price of one traditional lower I was able to complete two rifles.

The hardest kicking AR I placed the lower on was the 7.62x39 while shooting the 154gr soft point with a 16" upper; that puppy kicks twice as much as my 62gr 556. The lower worked with no problems noted.

The guy I have dealt with has been a wealth of information (Bill @ London Bridge) as I have asked him questions which he has been able to answer satisfactorily and educate me on the Plumcrazy lower along the way.

Last up date from me:

I have a few thousand rounds through the CMMG uppers with the Plumcrazy lowers. Kids and women who have a hard time holding a lite regular AR can handle these rifles with out much problem. I am a CMMG guy for I have two complete 5.56 ARs made by them that have not given me any problems so I expect the same service and reliability out of their .22s..

Sky, if I read all of this right, I understand that your lowers came with polymer hammers and triggers. Is that right? I always thought that the lowers were compatible with milspec parts.

Personally, I like polymer. I'd prefer it to cheap metal any day. Polymer doesn't ding up like metal does either. Heck, if the lower only lasted 10K rounds in a 5.56, I'd consider it money well spent for a purpose built light weight.

Yep Tony the only metal in the lower is the hammer/trigger springs and two springs for the pins that join the lowers to the uppers. They really are a weight saving item and are perfect for the size and weight for the CMMG .22s IMO. I do not know why they just do not ship the lowers with the hammers that work in all uppers? I can not visually see the difference with hammers but there is!! Hummmmm maybe I will call and see what they have to say..

I now have over 3000 rounds through the uppers with the Plumcrazy lowers; if anything the lowers are even better now than when new. The lowers will not work with the forward assist block that can be ordered with the CMMG .22 for extra cost. IMO the weight and balance for these weapons are about as good as it gets.
