If I were to go with one of them, it would be the second one, as the paddle is hidden behind my pants. I've looked at this holster for my P239, but very hesitant about getting a kydex holster. I've read here numerous times, use kydex holsters for plastic guns and leather for steel. So I'm trying to find a good leather paddle holster for my P239. Good luck with your decision.

I need something that sits really close to my side.
I guess iwb is out of the question?

CompTac does make quality products though(I love my Mtac hybrid) ..don't really know the details on their paddles though..sry.
But with a paddle i'd might be even more inclined to buy what i could try..as paddles can only get so close anyway :)

I think you would be surprised how little a good Kydex holster will impact your guns finish.

I agree, I love my first MTAC so much I bought another one and an extra half shell so I can use an MTAC for all of my carry guns. Excellent products they put out, and they are great people as well. I just sent a belt I had them make me back because I screwed up the order process, ordered by pant size instead of belt size, and for basically shipping costs they are going to send me the belt I should have ordered the first time. Best CS ever.

I think you will be fine with whichever one you get from them, I can't imagine Comp-Tac making a truly crappy holster of any kind, and if you really don't like the way it fits you they have a very good return/correction policy.

I have the second one you have listed for my Glock 37. I really like it and I'm going to order another one for my Glock 30.

Hate to say it but the paddle holster I got from them was disappointing. I was really surprised as I have owned several CTAC's and now own a MTAC and recommend them to every one I know when holsters come up. I'll see if I can find it and take a picture but I found it to stick out almost as much as one of those Fobus Roto holsters. Almost made me think it was for competition use and not CCW. I had the non-locking version btw.

I have the second one. Use it mostly for car carry to and from work for ease of on/off the belt. I don't know that I would use it for every day concealed carry though, especially on a large weapon. I actually have two, one for a 1911 and one for an M&P9 full size. From the belt down it is snug against the body. Above the belt it is not as tight in. The gun also rides pretty high. Mine both have the adjustable cant paddle so that may contribute to the form factor some.

So it works great for me in the car, but can't say I'd recommend it for everyday carry. Probably no worse than other paddles though, so if you are set on a paddle maybe it will work out. On that note I also have a Blackhawk CQC for a G19. The CompTac is definetly the more concealable of the two.

Not really into IWB. Just really uncomfortable for me as everything I've tried digs into my side something fierce. Plus I'd have to buy pants two sizes larger.

Do you guys find the holster to be pretty stable?

Hankdatank132,
Amen, and Comp-Tac is the company to go with.

Learned my lesson the hard way with FOBUS.

Can you elaborate? What was wrong with the Fobus holster?

Well, Fobus doesn't use Kydex for one, and it makes a difference. Also, the way the company makes the holster seems to make all the difference for the gun that will be riding in it, and Comp-Tac Kydex holsters have not put a single mark on any of the guns I put in them. I have two MTACS that can carry almost all of my pistols, and not one has come out with a noticeable blemish.

I really like my paddle holster for my XD9. It stays put and doesnt flop around, and is still pretty easy to take off.

Ive actually got another paddle holster from them that I dont even have a gun for. I ordered it for my SP-01 put its way different from a standard CZ 75/85.... They have a 30day return policy, but I figured Id buy another CZ someday anyhow. That seems like a good excuse anyhow, I really want a CZ 85 Combat.

I did find out that the SP-01 will work in the XD holster, but I had to modify the holster so the longer gun would fit so I could use it in a class.

Wow, talk about fast turnaround time. I got it in today, two days shipping and one day making it.

Wore it around some tonight. It sits pretty darn close to my side, much moreso than my SERPA. More stable also with the two 'hooks' on either end that dig into the pants waistband.

The holster is moulded to the gun very well and fits perfect. Doesn't have one iota of slop. Snicks in and out like a switch.

Comfort is alright, nothing spectacular. I found myself shifting a lot over a span of 3 hours wearing it. Maybe it's the belt, maybe my shape. The Galco FLETCH with the flat inner face feels better.

As you can see in DZL's picture, it doesn't cover the gun up as much as I thought it would. But that's just aesthetics, it funcitons fine.
