no im not looking into buying my girlfriend a gun, nor trying to ship a gun through fedex , or wondering when i can shoot someone. Im not brand new to consealed carry, and yes frank was very helpful. As ive done my fair share of research in it and found property has to be marked with information regarding the "no gun" areas. And that it also sometimes takes more then just a company manual that tells me no. What i was asking was if i can carry at work without worrying about my employer since my job atmosphere is much different then most every other job out there. I wanted answers for my certain situation.im sure there are plenty of similar posts. Not in the same state and also not even close to the same type of job atmosphere

That is separate from an employer's employee policies.

What makes you think that?

And the basic answer is "no." If your employer has a blanket "no guns on the job" policy, it applies to you wherever you conduct your employer's business.

The bottom line is that if you carry a gun on the job, and your employer has a "no guns on the job" policy, you are violating that policy if you have a gun on or with you while working. There is nothing about your work situation that gets you off the hook.

9rant, by the way, my post was in no way intended to cast aspersions on your question, which is a perfectly legitimate one. If I offended you, I sincerely apologize. My point was only that Frank volunteers so much of his time patiently explaining various areas of the law, and many others lend their expertise as well, that I simply wonder if there would not be a way to consolidate some of the great answers into a searchable database. I'm only half joking. Of course, the law is often gray and is always a moving target. What's fairly accurate today may be bunk by tomorrow. I wish you success in your situation, which sounds quite challenging. I know there are many people in the same boat, who need to be able to protect themselves and who aren't in a position to ditch the job that denies them the ability to carry. I'm glad this forum can give people some answers. Of course proper advice from a knowledgeable attorney is always best, but I know it's expensive.
