No loaded mags
JLStorm has been lucky. Federal regs do not permit loaded magazines. The requirement is that the ammo be in original factory containers or the equivalent. I was stopped at Newark airport a few years ago for having loaded mags in my checked baggage. When I asked about having been through several times, including just a month earlier, without a problem they said they hadn't noticed the loaded mags but that it had always been illegal.
