My potential carry guns are medium frame: HK USPc, Taurus PT940, a 3.5" 1911 - I've heard fellows talk about switching down to .380s and such in hot weather/hot climates but I'd rather not.

What's the concensus of carrying medium frames while wearing light clothing. More specifically, I'm old enough that I seldom wear shorts - Dockers and jeans and short sleaved taylored shirts.

I carry a Glock 19 in a Sidearmor holster with a polo shirt or a T-shirt untucked in the summer. Most folks don't even pay no mind, unless you're constantly fidgeting and adjusting your gun.

I prefer polo shirts when possible, and with a good belt/ holster/ mag pouch it is not a problem.

Blousing a tucked in shirt will let me use the tuckable Blade Tech UCH holster instead of the Sparks or Kramer IWBs I usually have.

This combo does fine, a shorter light conceals better.

I carry a P99 in a kydex IWB holster from Blade Tech year round. In the summer months I wear jeans and a button down shirt. No problems, so far.

The best concealement I've seen in hot weather was a friend of mine with his XD-40 in a shoulder holster. He was wearing a black tank top with a dark blue button-up short-sleeve. I'm usually pretty good at picking out concealed weapons, but there was no way possible I was going to see this... no printing or bulges anywhere, and he's a big guy, too (6'2", probably 260).

His only complaint was when he gets out of his truck after an extended driving period, the straps on the shoulder rig make indent prints on the back of the button-up.

Winter and summer here in Fla, I carry 1911's in Brommeland Max Con V's, absolutely comfortably and well concealed with great access. Occasionally I will carry my "Sunday go to meeting," Kimber Ultra Carry II in an Andrews pocket holster.

"Docker's, Jeans, and a Tailored Shirt"

simple leave the tail of the shirt out as a cover garment.

Sometimes, I dress in shorts but most of the time I'm in Carhartt
clothing [pants & shirt]; and my CCW piece is a Kimber Stainless
Ultra Carry II .45 ACP that rides in a leather OWB rig from the
fine folks at Kirkpatrick Leather~! :D

i know i may get razzed for carrying a toy, but i like my walther P22. light as a feather, and sits comfortably in any shorts pocket.

CZ PO1, Orca nylon IWB, with sweat sheild. Two things I have noticed, that no matter what the frame metal is, the mag release and grips screws will always rust...keep those clean and oiled. Large shirts with disruptive patterns help break up outlines - a nice hawiian luau shirt might help!:p

Right now I'm carrying a Glock 30 in a CrossBreed IWB holster. I'm wearing Dockers and a polo shirt at work and no one would ever guess I'm carrying.

If I can't or choose not to carry IWB, I carry a Kel Tek P-11 (13 rds 9mm) in the right front pocket of dockers or shorts in a pocket holster with an anti-print panel.

I live in SE Florida.

AT 69 I will wear shorts on occasion but shorts with belt loops. Carry one gun year around. An XD45 in a FIST 43 IWB/OWB holster with a good belt. I never wear shirts tucked in so concealment is not a problem. In Oregon we seldom have very hot weather for any length of time so its one gun for me year around. Shorts with belt loops and untucked shirt - works for me. Pick follows:

+1 for armoredman and the Orca software holster. I have one for my 92FS and one for a Taurus 650 CIA snubby. Last weekend I wore the 92 all day with just the shirt tail "bloused" over the grip. I am a large fellow and it works great.

If that phaser works I've clearly stumbled onto an interdimensional rift... or something kind of important got left behind by accident. "Bones" has done it before.

I usually carry my CQB in kramer leather IWB under a hawaiian shirt. Man my wife hatres those shirts. In cooler weather, usually just a MSP paddle under a light jacket, or a long sleeve shirt unbuttoned with a t-shirt with a goofy saying on it.
