name, rank, hire date, salary, meals, uniform, and benefits sound pretty personal to me.

But if not, go ahead and post all yours for us. No, I'm not going to post any more cases or anything else on this thread for that matter. Somewhere else, maybe if it comes up. It serves no more useful purpose here. I'm done. You can have the last word if you want it. You win. I'm wrong. Sorry I misled everyone.

it's all public records. right here: http://lbloom.net/wsp01.html

i see you were State Patrol. that explains a lot as the that agency routinely trains it's officers that it's just fine and dandy to violate peoples' rights. i have a little first hand knowledge here too. a couple of my friends went through the academy, as did my girlfriend's ex-husband.

since you can't back up your assertions, i'll help you.

here's the case i'm citing holding the officer individually responsible

http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-wawdce/case_no-2:2005cv01948/case_id-131700/ you may even know the guy involved. Kyle Burgess.

and here's a case what constitutes probable cause and/or Reasonable, Articulable Suspicion: http://www.impsec.org/~jhardin/gunstuff/legal/State_v_Casad_(unpublished).pdf

it basically says that even carrying a rifle down the street in the middle of the day isn't PC or RAS enough to stop and frisk a person, let alone a shell casing or two in a car.

here's one that says you can't even ask for ID with no evidence of wrongdoing: http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=20040611&slug=decisions11m

here's a case that disallows police to obtain a warrant based on nothing more than expertise or hunches: http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19990615&slug=2966646

it appears the search feature for the RCW's isn't working right now but when i does i'll get you the info from there too.

Just an update for you all: the DA declined to charge him.

I spoke to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago (county deputy) who predicted this outcome. Good kid, no record: there would have been no good reason to pursue it.

Thanks again to you all, especially to jscott; a real nice guy with a great common-sense perspective.

Jscott and I communicated some via email, hence the comment and thank you. He had some very good suggestions I passed on to my friend.
This was just meant to be an update, and I had no intention of stirring up an old flame war.
