Hello all,

I am considering re-purchasing a P01, I had one before and loved it, but I'm disappointed by the lack of accessories for this thing, even by the CZ factory, which is simply irresponsible of them. How could they not have high cap mags for these things in stock? They're the factory?

What lights go on this thing? The M3 from what I'm told barely fits though it is pictured with an M6, the M3's big brother on their website....do they all fit so tight?

What gives with having to use ProMag stuff becasue no CZ mags are available?

What gives with only being able to order custom holsters specifically made for the gun?

Why should anyone spend the $450+ buying a gun that not even the factory would provide accessories for?

I'm not knocking CZ products, but dang...do they WANT to sell pistols in the U.S.?

Perhaps I am ignorant of the availability of things...please educate me.

Go to www.ghostholster.com and get the phone number. Call and talk to Angus, he will put all your fears to rest and supply you with the things you want for the P01.

CZ aftermarket support is LIMITED compared to Glock, but just about anything you want can be found these days if you know where to look.

You just have to look. I found high-cap factory mags on at both CheaperThanDirt.com and impactguns.com, for instance. Trijicon and XSSights sell night sights for CZs. I don't know about lights or lasers, though.

As far as holsters go, custom holsters are kind of necessary. I know that Fobus sells a paddle holster that fits the gun (it's the holster for the HK USP Compact), and I'm sure if you poke around there are others. But I've had to order every holster I've bought for every gun I own, so...I always just assumed that holsters came custom unless you owned a Glock. ;)

I'm sure CDNN...

has more mags than you can afford to buy. Uh seriously though Your thread is very misleading. You are not disappointed by support, you seem to be upset that they don't carry cz mags at walmart and 7-11.

Honestly about 10 seconds on google and you can proably find whatever you want in this world. Did you even try doing a search before you posted?

Uh...yeah. In fact I've owned 2 CZ 75 full size. 2 CZ PCR's and a P01. I sold them because of this problem....recently I found a P01 for an inexpensive price but couldn't find anyone who had any mags or anything for it. I passed........Last I checked Wally World and 7-11 didn't sell mags...at least here in the civilized world.

But I'm dyin' to see one of your 10 second google searches maestro

The problem is, I love CZ...but nobody seems to ever have any aftermarket stuff for them, or even factory stuff. CZ has got to know that there is a shortage of compact mags around...you'd think they would start cranking them out...but nope...they run out of stock at the factory level.

Accessories (third party, at that) != Support

Support is warranty issues, customer assistance... that type of thing. It's not CZ's fault that popular holster, tac-light, etc manufacturers haven't jumped at the marketing opportunity available to the CZ customers. CZ makes guns, not tac-lights, holsters, ammo, and everything else related to the handgun "system." CZ's have just in the past few years gained so much publicity and popularity. It takes the aftermarket a few years to determine if they're going to build accessories for a product, then you have design time, ramping up production, distribution, etc. We have this same problem when any new pistol comes out. The only one I can think of that we didn't have this type of problem with was the Springfield XD line, and that's because, as we all know, they're nothing more than a rebranded Croatian HS2000 pistol that has been on the market for years.

A short magazine supply is CZ's fault. Not that it is the end of the world as I will still get a P01...but dang...those mags are hard to get.

eating my words! imadumaz!

Man alive they ARE hard to find! It seems that pcr/p01/compacts all have the same mag and I can't find any of em. Unless they are the same as the .40 compact mags on the cz website. If they are you can find them there.

Causing me to wonder about SP-01 mags too. I would like one but I don't see myself buying one and waiting months to get extra mags. they had better get their stuff together.

The only one's I've seen recently are the Pro Mag .40's which are different than the .40's CZ lists on their website...cheaper and I just have a tough time trusting my life to anything promag. If it doesn't work when it needs to go bang....I'm not likely to be able to complain about it anytime soon.

I talked my friend into a P-01 last year. He found a leather holster to fit it that was for another gun. I'll try to find out what holster it is. Finding some CZ stuff is a pain, but I think it's worth it.

edit: I think the eaa witness compact mags work. CDNN has 10 rders for $9.99 and 13 rders for $14.99

Sorry

I often forget that not everyone is stuck in California like I am. The mags in my last post are 10 rounders. That's an expensive mag for only 10 rounds. cheaperthandirt.com is indeed sold out of their mags.

According to the factory, there are more mags in the pipeline and should be arriving in 30-60 days.

Don't know what your friend snagged for a holster, but I picked up one of these from Galco:

http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterG3.asp?ProductID=232&GunID=327

When I got mine though, they hadn't put one up for the P-01 yet. I bought one for the 4" XD, and it fits perfectly. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that they simply put up the same (XD) hoster and said it was for a P-01.

I'm sure other holsters made for the XD would probably work also. But there's really no need for that any longer. There are a lot of holster makers supporting the P-01 now. The Galco works great. Tucker, HBE, DeSantis, etc all are listing the P-01.

As far as full capacity mags are concerned - have you talked with anyone about ordering some? When I wanted some for my P-01, there wasn't even a cross reference on the web sight pointing out which to get. I went to the (last) gunshop in Mpls, and Mark ordered a couple for me with one phone call. Had them in a few days. I'm not trying to say that they probably always have some - just that what's on their web sight may not reflect what they really have laying about.

I have a PCR and a 75B. I have had no problem getting hicap mags for either. The PCR, P-01 and the Compact models all use the same magazines. Any holster designed for the Sig P228 will fit the PCR. I found a Bianchi, off the shelf that I use to carry both my PCR and P228. The gun comes pretty well equipped out of the box. If you want nice wood grips Hakan Pek makes them. What else do you need?

High Noon Holsters makes several models for the CZ P-01 and other CZ models. The CZ line seems to be growing in popularity. Can the aftermarket supplies be far behind?

Yes, I'm still stuck with the castrated mags also. Probably as long as CZ keeps the supply of hicaps low, it can keep the price up.
