I don't know why but I've always wanted a slim nominally full sized "modern" 9mm pistol for ccw and General shootin fun.

What's the word on these slightly cheaper Kahr's? I'd really like to hear from those of you who've shot one as to how you like it or if there's any similar offerings from other makers I should look into as well.

I have the other polymer T model, the TP9, which is the same gun in most respects. I really enjoy shooting it, and in fact it's my favorite model of the 9 that I've used. It is fairly soft shooting, reliable, accurate, easy to clean and offers a full, solid grip. I always add a grip sleeve to my polymer Kahrs.

With a "C" model you lose the polygonal barrel, dovetail on the front sight and a third mag. If none of that matters then the CT9 is a very reasonably priced "best buy" IMHO.

I know you asked specifically about the CT9, but I have a CW45 and its great. Slim, light, points very well, easy to shoot. I'm not sure about the polygonal rifling but the cut barrels at least for the CW, are made by Walther, mine has been very accurate.

I can't tell if Kahr is still running their free magazine promotion or not. Is that still going on?

I am really keen on a slim as possible single stack with a full grip and a 4"ish barrel.

Thanks for the replies fellas. How is the holster availability for the CT?

If I may point out...

Some people view a polygonal barrel as an 'upgrade'. As a caster and reloader, I view it as a handicap. I can't shoot my lead reloads in my K9, so it sits in the safe most range trips.

Just a thought.

As for holsters it's my understanding many 1911 versions will work, and I do currently use a 'commander' OWB for my K9.

My CM9 is the budget version of the PM9 and I could not be happier with it.

It is a Lothar Walther barrel, mine has been extremely accurate. I too am not a fan of polygonal rifling so much, I prefer lead and although you can soot lead thru a polygonal barrel, it is not optimal at all.

I own a CW9 and a CW40. Shorter grips than you want, but the same mechanics. If you appreciate that looong, smooth trigger pull, then it's the gun for you. Comfortable, concealable, reliable.

I've never owned a Kahr, but if you're looking for a slim single stack 9 take a look at Springfield's XDS 4.0. I picked one up a couple of months ago and love it.

I like the trigger on the Kahrs. One thing I like about Kahrs in general is the pistols stay slim. For most other manufacturers, if you look at their product line, when the pistols start getting longer, they start getting fatter.

Well I ended up with the ct45 instead of the 9mm

Simply because I got offered a great deal on one at the gunshow before I saw the cw9 at the next table over.

I learned after the fact that this was a really good thing as the ct45 takes 1911 mags!!

I carry a PM9 daily, in the pocket, for about 6 or 7 years now. I have many guns, but even with the 7 round mag, it fits nicely in my pants pocket, and is totally reliable. I have written about it many time here as have others. What you will find is like "colors", everyone has their favorite one. And although I like many guns, some much more than this one, it suits my daily needs.
That's what it's all about, although I would prefer to have my PPQ, or Glock 30 S, they are just too large for all day carry in FL.
A gun is no good unless you have it when you need it.

I had the smaller and cheaper CM9 that was totally unreliable and resulted in a lot of wasted time, money, and ammo. Nice trigger at least. It was eventually replaced with a Springfield Armory xds 9mm that has been great from the very first shot. The xds 4.0 version seems ungainly with the flush magazine but would compare reasonably well in size with the CT9 if you used an extended mag. The xds will be heavier than the Kahr CT9 but it shoots as well as a full size pistol to me. They are priced more competitively these days too.

Nice score on the CT45! Had a CW40 that had some issues but loved the grip design and overall ergonomics. I currently have a CM9 that has a great trigger and fits my smaller size hand perfectly. It's also very easy to carry concealed, either IWB or pocket carry.

I own a Glock 17 and Kahr CT9. My hands are average size and I find the Kahr CT9 fits much better. Target groups at 15 yards are tighter with the CT9 plus it seems to point naturally. I shoot the Glock 17 very well but I've had to work hard to do it.
The D/A trigger on the CT9 is long but very smooth. It works well for me.
As far as holsters go, CrossBreed makes them for the CT9. I bought an Alien Gear 3.0 IWB for a Kahr TP. The TP9 has the same dimensions as the CT9. It works just fine.
Speaking for myself, I find the Glock 17 just to big to carry Inside the Waist Band. This is where the CT9 shines. Its thin enough to carry without any discomfort. I'm glad I bought it.
My CT9 sold new, online for $300 plus $5.99 shipping. Plus Kahr sent me a free magazine. It's the best money I ever spent.

My wife and I have carried revolvers as LEOs and afterwards as CCW firearms for over 40 years.

She started looking for a replacement for her S&W J frame which was hurting an arthritic thumb joint.

I steered her towards some 380 Autos.. She looked at single action autos but was leary of the safeties. She looked at Glocks but didn't trust the triggers for CCW.
She wound up choosing a CW45 because of the similarity in trigger pull to her revolvers, and the absence of the sharp recoil.

I was so impressed with the little rascal that I bought one a couple of days later.
We are both still in the "getting to know you/ break in phase" but we both like the guns.

I have snagged a couple of 7 shot Officer Model 1911 mags. They work like a champ. That gives us each 8 shots and some spare mags that we can exchange if we git in a bit too deep.

I suspect we will both wind up using them for EDC.

My friend had a CT9 for awhile. It was his first handgun. I can see how it would be decent for CC on a larger person. I hated the trigger on it, though. He said magazines were something like $30-35, which brings up the point that aftermarket accessories for the CT9 are going to be harder to find and more expensive when you do.

I'm sure they're well built guns, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Like stated above. I've ended up with the 45acp.

I've shot it and was impressed with how accurate I was with it and how "smoothly" the gun ran.

I have an MDJ OWB holster en route for it.
