I find gun laws to have the consistency of cottage cheeze..

<rant on>

A woman was found shot and killed yesterday. She was jogging in the morning here in Taiwan. From the crime scene, it looks like she was mugged, and she did not try to resist, but having no money on her, the muggers got upset and shot and killed her.

OK, follow me here on the Taiwan gun laws:

#1) Death penalty for the SELLING of guns and other illegal firearms here in Taiwan.
#2) Death penalty for the PURCHASING of guns and other illegal firearms here in Taiwan.

#3) 25-life, and MAYBE death penalty for killing someone with a gun.

If this guy gets caught, he probably won't get the death penalty, because the murder was not premeditated. So "if" he gets caught (a big IF), he will probably get 25 years, serve 12 and be out on the streets again..

Is it asking all that much to be consistent as far as gun laws are concerned?? The girl's family is UPSET, and rightly so. I think the mother is now Pro-RKBA. The police here keep preaching "All they want is money, give them the money and they will leave you alone and your life won't be in danger.." blah blah blah :cuss: :banghead: I guess someone forgot to tell the mugger..

The more of this stuff is reported in the news, the more the pro-rkba groups here in Taiwan have a leg to stand on..

btw.. I hope they catch the guy and he rots in jail... too bad it won't happen :fire: :banghead: :cuss:
