Contender hammer spring

I broke the hammer spring on my early contender (pre safety). The lgs has Contender hammer springs but they are different than mine.
Will the new spring work in the old style hammer?

Today I answered my own question. I decided to try the new style hammer spring and it works great.

I bought a set of 5 from Bellm several years ago and replaced the originals on both of my frames as the originals seemed to be weak.

Not long ago one of the Bellm springs failed. I was very glad I still had 3 new ones in the bag. I made a special effort to install the new one without using any sharp edged steel items to pry /push it into place.
