Have you folks picked-up a few 10 rounders for your normally >10 round platforms as a contingency? Thoughts?

To me thats borrowing trouble. I will cross that road if and when it happens. Im sure someone will find a way to convert 10+ rounders to 10 only. If they haven't already.

    No.

If the worst happens, and there's no grandfather then it's officially 1911 time.

At least until in can pick up some 10 rounders, bullet buttons, or whatever conversion kits come out.

Sorta kinda sounds like a defeatist attitude to me.

I went the other way and ordered some full capacity magazines while they are still legal.
If we get a punitive tax, I will scrap them.

Well I ended up with some 10 rounders in a trade and held onto them but only buy full capacity for anything I own. They are often less costly than anything lower capacity.

When we're down to only being allowed single shot weapons, what will the contingency plan be? Spear? Bow? Atlatl?

    Why ?

If there's a mag ban then presumably legal mags would still be for sale.

I am stocking up on normal capacity mags for those guns > 10 rds however.

They say that the Generals always prepare to fight the last battle, not future battles. I don't know who will win the election, nor what will happen in the future, but 1994 was 26 years ago. A lot has changed. Even if there are future gun restrictions it won't be the same battle this time.

If you have been previously preempted, not much to do.

Better read sleepy Joe’s plan, handguns capable of holding 10 or more are assault weapons. Will need NFA stamp($200.) each mag is taxed $200.

buying 10 rounders won’t save you anything.

If you’re worried buy a Shield or G42-43

What if they pick 7 as the new limit? Or 6? Or, zero? I'm not trying to guess what they will do. Sort of like trying to teach a pig to dance.

I recently acquired one of Simonov’s patern carbines:

It can be fed quickly from 10-round chargers and the .30 Russian Short is a capable cartridge out to 100 yards or so. No need for magazines and the charges can be loaded just as fast. I am using good quality Czech chargers. I also found a small pouch that can be lashed to the stock and hold three more on the rifle for a total of 40 rounds. The bayonet could also be used in an emergency.

As the OP, I don't start threads like this because I need advice.

I post them to initiate a discussion on the topic that may spur others to make their own decisions on the matter.

Only for my AR. I am a new gun owner and came across a YouTube series from another gun guy that had a list of things to get incase things go the other way after the election and It was all based on the previous AWB. It did mention 10 rds were hard to come after the ban and preban larger capacity went for a lot in trade and to even stock on several types and brands of mags

Plus the 10 rds come in handy when I fill a 30rd from 2 boxes of 40 and have 10 rds left over

No. In fact I read the writing on the wall and purchased some 30 round pmags back in late 2012 before Colorado's 15 round capacity limit went into effect the following year. I didn't even own a complete AR15 yet but decided to get while the getting was good.

To be honest, I do most of my target shooting from the bench with a bipod and I absolutely prefer 10 round magazines, just not because the government told me to....

No plan on it; if they become outlawed, I guess I become an outlaw; who would know anyway?

The left has learned a lot in 26 years. If it happens, there won't be a grandfather clause, and there won't be a sunset date.
