Bounty Hunter

PUM_BountyHunter.jpg

Based on the gun that cowboy character Josh Randall carried in the 1950’s television series by the same name, Legacy Sports International announces the release of the Bounty Hunter Model 92 under their popular Puma brand. Manufactured in Italy by Chiappa Firerms, the Bounty Hunter is considered by Federal Law a handgun, not a rifle.

It’s 12 inch barrel and 24 inch overall length make it ideal as a pack gun or a nostalgia collectible. With a six round magazine, the Bounty Hunter also features a large, ¾ loop lever and the same beautiful wood and metal finish as the new line of full sized Model 92’s. Available in .45 Colt, .44-40 or .44 Magnum.

$1250 Retail

It is classified as a pistol because it is built from scratch as one, not a rifle converted. An over priced really neat nolstagic toy that I'd like to have.
Just that price.

It would be a pistol since it was made that way, if it didn't have a what appears to be a buttstock. If that is a functional butstock then it would be a SBR.

I still have my full sized plastic Bounty Hunter rifle from my youth many years ago. Fires paper caps with the trigger or using the cocking lever.

deal is the stock is way to short to be fired from the shoulder. There used to be an AR pistol that was BATF approved that was a 10" barreled CAR XM177 knock off with a CAR stock that was brazed in the collapsed position.

Well, it sure ain't a revolver . . .
It's a way-too-expensive wall-hanger; I'd never try to shoot one.

Think about it -- there was a Youtube video of a guy with a pistol-grip shotgun, and he's holding it up in front of himself to aim it -- pulls the trigger -- shotty bashes him right square in the teeth, hard. This wouldn't be any different.

Ahhh the Mare's Leg, if i had the money I'd buy one in a second. Someone said they wouldn't shoot one due to the recoil... but its not chambered in 12 gauge, its .45 colt and other pistol calibers. It would basically just be like a heavier pistol, but of course much much cooler :D

Why not? I have a Marlin 1894 in 44 mag and the recoil is no where close to that of a 12 gauge shotgun. More like a .410. I don't know anything about the 44-40, but I have a hard time believing this would be tough to handle in 44 mag or 45 colt.

So Im seeing this thinking its way cool, but I wonder if it would be allowed for handgun hunting? A 44mag out of a 12" barrel, I think that would take care of bambi real nice. I think if you put a slip on butt pad it you might be able to fire from the shoulder.

I wonder what the Conservation Cops in my state would think?

Real expensive, but would make a great truck gun

Overpriced.
Even with the $200 tax and gunsmithing involved you could still come in at probably half the MSRP.

I like the loop lever. But on that rifle, no. I held one a week ago and I'm not sure it is good for much of anything except hanging on the wall.

Considering the cost vs value vs price ... ...

Is there any agreement here on the AVERAGE cost from wholesaler to an ordinary retail FFL, selling less than $30,000 worth retail to his market per year, of what %-age of that selling-price would be pure mark-up? Not to include overhead, etc., which varies greatly. Inquiring minds want to know. DAO.

saw one for sell a few days ago on gunbroker for $1200.....if only I had the money ......:)

Cool looking but not very practical and the big loop lever makes it slower to lever then a "normal" size lever ---- I shoot Cowboy Matches { SASS } --- and got to shoot a few "big loops" --- all were slower to work at high speed then a normal size lever.

I think it was Island Girl , a past womans national champ , that would hold the lever from the oitside and use her thumb to work the trigger ---- differant strokes for differant folks !!!!!!!!!!!
