It's not about the gun, the badge, or the uniform. It's about the man/woman inside and the sworn oath they made before God.

FYI: Many Tokyo and other police departments around the world do not arm all of their officers.

If the policy at that school allows the students to carry weapons then the police should be allowed to as well. If guns are banned, then obviously the police dont need them either.

Actually if a high proportion of the students were armed, then the police would not need to be.
