Cops Shoot Man in Shoulder Twice on Same Night

Monday, August 15, 2005

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A man was shot by police twice in the same shoulder at two different times on the same night.

The girlfriend of 33-year-old Kenyatta Bostic called police with a domestic violence complaint early Saturday, but Bostic was gone when officers arrived, said Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner.

He returned soon after, but when officers ordered him to turn off his car's engine he sped off, barely avoiding an officer who dived out of the way, Turner said.

An officer fired through the car's passenger window, hitting Bostic in the shoulder.

Police chased him through the Atlantic metropolitan area until Bostic returned to his girlfriend's apartment complex, where he crashed his car and set out on foot. An officer caught up with him and ordered him to hold up his hands.

"He refused to show his hands. Then he turned abruptly at the officer and the officer struck him in the same bad shoulder," Turner said.

Bostic was treated at a hospital and released. He was being held on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal trespass and traffic violations.

After being shot twice in the same shoulder? Grazed twice is more like it. Looking sharply down & to the side at my own shoulder make me think that if I were shot there it would require a bit more than treated & released. :uhoh: .

Ouch! Twice! I bet he doesn't have much mobility in that shoulder for the rest of his life. Not to mention the Arthritis that will invariably set in as he ages. Oh well, That's what he gets for being stupid.

World's slowest double-tap?
Heh heh. Somehow, it seems that what the cops are using is a bit.....lackluster for the job of stopping criminals. 9mm? .22? .17? :scrutiny:

As for "worth shooting once=worth shooting twice"--what if you're hunting bugs bunny for food? :p Or a dove, or some other small animal?

Yeah! The cops should be issued S&W 500 magnums!
Yeah! That's the ticket!
Boom!
There goes one shoulder!
Boom!
There goes the other!
Even if they missed the vacuum would suck the brains right out of his skull!

All I can figure is that maybe they are looking over their sites (resulting in a high shot) and possibly shooting one-handed, resulting in a pull to the right (if right handed). There is no way they were aiming at the same spot. That would be just too amazing.
