ow for some good news for Saiga fans, Remington bought the rights to Baikal, not Saiga. According to EAA, the Saiga importation has gone to a company in Tennessee. They either really did not know who, or they weren’t allowed to say. So maybe we might be getting more Saigas.

Jim Scoutten is reporting that Taurus will be making their own 1911 with all the bells and whistles for under $450.

There was a prototype .50. Semi, 5 shot mag, side fed. About the size of the Serbu, invented by the same guy who did the Anzio and the Safety Harbor guns. It is similar in weight to the Serbu, and if this thing works it is going to be awesome. Should be around $3,500.

That guy lives right by me and I shot his latest revision of that gun 2 weeks ago at the local 100 yard range. He is a really awesome guy and the gun was still moving towards market at the 3500 dollar range.

I got to shoot it and as I mentioned earlier, the recoil was really light, lighter than my (saiga 12ga w/ recoil buffer) shotgun.

The gun itself is very light, with lots of Al and Ti parts. He was shooting slightly hot loads with moly coated GI fmj.

working in the industry

I'm curious as to how people get into the firearms industry, not in the retail end such as gunshops. are you/they all ex military/LEO? what particular background and or skills do you have? I'm assuming you don't go into that kind of job to make the big bucks.

I'm an accountant. I got to go because I take care of the books and help out with a new company, FBMG, that does suppresors and SOT stuff.

Most of the folks there are FFLs, followed by people who just work at gun related businesses. Anybody can get into the gun business, it is just like any other line of work.

Keep in mind however, that the US gun industry is tiny compared to a lot of industries. My real job is in the music business, and the gun industry is a speck compared to the money in music.

I was able to get in as I am a firearms instructor. To get in you need either a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) number, State Tax Number, or Industry Related Business Card.

Definatly go if you can... They are taking registrations for the 2006 show now.
