I had a bit of a problem with Optics Planet recently. It was self induced on my part by a typo on an email address while purchasing a gift card for a friend. So, I took a shot at straightening it out. Mainly, I wanted to know if the card had been expended by whoever I actually did send it to. If not, perhaps Optics Planet could redirect the card to the proper email address.....
The bottom line to my efforts is I never really got their customer service to understand what I wanted to check on and what I wanted to do after that. Basically, what I got, over and over, was "Covid, covid, covid". Then I actually checked their physical location. Illinois. Suburb of Chicago. Huh. At that point, I gave up and added Illinois to my list of places to avoid doing business with. That list also includes NY and NJ and California (just on principle).
Anybody else noticed a correlation between poor service and outdoor businesses located in certain places? Am I just lucky to have problems with businesses in blue states?
