I may be looking to sell some pure lead ingots (from stick on wheel weights) and was wondering what average prices were per pound/ounce. On a similar note, what do I need to do to post in the trading post? I don't see a "create thread" button.

Stick around, contribute, and before you know it the trading post will show up for you. No selling is allowed outside of the trading post.

These were the stick on wheel weights... I was under the impression that they are softer (I was told they are close to pure) than clip on wheel weights... please correct me if I'm wrong.

Your local recycle center can give you the value

Trading post rules are clearly stated and you do not qualify on time or posts.

Just a note, wheel weights are not pure lead. They usually run ~10/12 BHN while pure lead is ~5 BHN. BUT, wheel weights are just about perfect for casting most bullets.

Here is a link to a popular commercial seller you can get prices from.

Good luck...

Most stick on wheel weights are pure lead.

The local scrap yard is paying $0.35 lb for lead. They don't buy wheel weights any longer. They sell scrap lead at $0.70 a lb. Going price at Cast Boolits seems to be in the $1 a lb plus shipping for clean ingots.

Stick-on WW --- pure lead??? Well---maybe, maybe not. I think originally they may have been pure, or close to it, but as time went on, they started to get contaminated with recycled lead and all bets were off. The only way to be sure you have pure lead is to buy new, certified product from a vendor. There are affordable testers available such as Cabin tree, LBT technologies, Lee etc.
